It’s been rumored for some time and it’s finally here, DJ Khaled unleashed his epic Jay Z and Future collaboration “I Got the Keys” live on at the BET Awards. Future began teasing the song last month and the trio were spotted together at the star-studded Miami kickoff of Beyonce’s Formation tour last month. Then Khaled, Future, Jay and just about everybody else that matters linked up for the video shoot as well.
This is just the second time Future Hendrix and Hov have linked up, and both were the results of Khaled’s magical networking prowess. The last time Jay freaked out lax bros everywhere on “They Don’t Love You No More” by calling an unnamed foe “soft as a lacrosse team” but this time there should be no such controversy.
“I Got the Keys” lists Southside, Jake One and G Koop as the song’s co-producers. The track comes right on the heels of Future’s new mixtape Project E.T. and amidst Jay’s recent resurgence, including a so-so return on the “All The Way Up” remix before blacking out on Pusha T’s “Drug Dealers Anonymous.” As for Khaled, he’s clearly looking to set the summer on fire before he releases Major Key on July 29th.
