For each and every person who felt alienated by every reference Jay-Z made to a cabana in an exotic location or scoffing at the NBA fining him $50,000 on his latest album, Watch the Throne, take solace in knowing that unlike most rappers in these times, your man Shawn Carter is telling the truth. Forbes released a preliminary report back in March with Diddy edging out Jay-Z for richest Hip-Hopper in the biz but the official numbers are in and Jay is #1 in the bank account department with a reported $37 million in earnings.

It’s no secret how he got here this year. As a minority owner with the Brooklyn New Jersey Nets, hobnobbing with Warren Buffett and co-owner of the biggest album on the planet at the moment, the register was bound to continue to ring.

But don’t feel bad for his counterparts or the brand of Hip-Hop for the matter. Ironically, as rappers are selling less records, its culture is breeding more millionaires. Fresh-faced youngsters Drake and Wiz Khalifa both raked in $11 million a piece while Dr. Dre, who is chronically making headlines for not releasing his Detox album, saw his stock become $14 million dollars richer.

The Throne is also in great shape with Kanye West coming in at #3 with $16 million. See the full list below.
