Expect to hear the former King of New York on Drake’s Nothing Was The Same.
According to Rolling Stone, Drake enlisted Jay Z to bless fans on his upcoming project. Lil Wayne and Hudson Mohawke also made the cut.
“This album is about growth,” says the Toronto MC. “When I play it for people, they ask, ‘Who’s that rapping?’ I’m like, ‘That’s me.’” The LP also features all-star guests from Jay Z to Lil Wayne, plus superhot producers like Scottish DJ Hudson Mohawke. One highlight? The emotional “Connect.” “That one hits you in the heart,” says Drake. “It’s painful and beautiful at the same time.”
The Jigga Man’s addition shouldn’t come as surprise to anyone. Back in May, Lenny S uploaded the above image of both rappers in the studio. While many believe the session would lead to a Drake-assisted track on a then untitled and rumored Jay Z album, Drake was nowhere to be found on Magna Carta Holy Grail. Then a few days later, a rumored track list leaked by Papi’s dad showed a Jay feature for a track entitled, “Know Yourself.” The confirmed collaboration marks the third time both rappers have appeared on each other’s albums.
