Legitimacy. Validation. Whatever you want to call it, Jeremy Lin led the New York Knicks to victory last night against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant said he heard of Jeremy Lin but didn’t know about his game. Unfortunately for him, he found out firsthand what “Linsanity” was all about. Lin lead his team with 38 points and 7 assists including a spectacular spin move against L.A. point guard Derek Fischer and some late three pointers in the fourth quarter to ice the win.
Lin’s previous two starts against the Utah Jazz and the Washington Wizards didn’t fully convert critics that the Knicks point guard’s game was for real. But as the national sports spotlight shined on the Asian-American, Harvard grad – he passed with flying colors. Time will tell if this is just a Rudy week for Jeremy Lin, but after every game the legend continues to grow toward Tim Tebow levels of admiration.
