The whole experience that came with watching Jesse Abraham’s “You Are Not A Ghost Anymore” left me pretty weirded out. The Manhattan MC’s words are monotonous, yet carry weight like a Mack truck. This Nicolas Heller visual is extremely captivating, but occasionally comes across as being weird, just to be weird.
Yet, couple those two impartial elements with the extremely potent alternative Hip-Hop from producer Paul White (Danny Brown, Homeboy Sandman, etc) and the track achieves it’s potential, which is unquestionable quality. But, the real question is, will we listen to it? I mean, Requiem For A Dream is great movie, but I sure as hell don’t want or need to watch it ever again.
Either way, Jesse’s upcoming album I Am Water drops January 29th and we’ll be looking forward to see how this pen poet attempts to draw us in.
