Did I know the video for Jim Jones’ “Emotionless” trailed into “So Harlem”? Hell, I don’t even remember “Emotionless” having a video in the first place. Still one of my favorite cuts from Capo.
I don’t even remember this beat from Jim. Reup made this their own. Among many others.
+1. This album got numerus plays when it dropped. Soundtrack to a certain summer… can’t remember which summer tho.
Jimmy had some bangers, this was one of them.
It is the continuation of the original “We Fly High” as well.
This is actually the first edit, too. We had to hand it into Apple unfinished (it was the first featured Hip-Hop video for sale on iTunes). The storyline is simultaneously shown on the top and bottom along the main screen.
We Fly High was the hottest song of the ’06 summer! I remember everybody going crazy over it at my school, parties, actually everywhere it drops lol
i swear i’d never seen this until I stumbled upon it while searching for the song on youtube.
I have the final cut… somewhere. I hate that, even with digital archiving, we get horrible quality YouTube videos. The labels need to reupload them at HD quality when the master is available in HD.
Jimmy handed the keys over to me on this song – and I appreciated that. It is a record I listened to off the album, anyway (before he did so). For everyone else, I can see how it got lost. I knew it was not a single, but it reminded me of Pac and “We Fly High” (both the original and remix) had done so well, it did not matter… he made a killing (chart and sales).
The only hiccup was Jones heading from set to Jersey to get wardrobe and jewelry for the video. It costs us 25k that the label refused to pay because it took him hours to get back… so they denied the over on the budget. He came back to set so high… my goodness lol
I then knew why it took him so long to return.
Never saw the video until this post, but I remember hearing about Farakkhan appearin in a Jones video… And now I know which one. How did he get Farakkhan in the video?
We got Dr. Benjamin Chavis for the role.
I guess an HD video would have helped me see that lol.
I just found the final cut HD file – but I cannot upload it due to ownership/copyright violations. I will send it over to the label or Jimmy with the recommendation.
Juelz murdered this joint!
It’s crazy how to reminisce how much swag Dipset had! They even started the rockstar/skull/true religion style in hip-hop
Stacks started it, Jimmy ran with it and made it popular
real shit dont get it fucked up
This album was SO DOPE & I’ve never been a Fan of Jim Jones as an MC. Dude really had it on lock with album.
