“John Wall Is In The Building…”

For the record, this > LeBrongate.

I consider myself a basketball fanatic. To be completely honest, I haven’t hooped seriously in over a year, but my love for the game presents itself in other facets. If you keep up with college recruiting, you’ve likely heard of the phenom that is John Wall. There’s a pretty good chance the point guard from North Carolina will be named “Freshman of the Year” at the conclusion of the 2009-2010 college basketball season. If memory serves me correctly, he’s the most decorated high school recruit since LeBron and the only thing which prohibited him from being the #2 pick in the ’09 draft was the NBA’s eligibility requirement. After making it official earlier this year that he’ll be taking his services to Kentucky, Wall is already projected to be a top three pick. My hypothesis is that he’ll become the top overall selection in the 2010 draft. But hey, I’m no Andy Katz.

This past weeked at the North Carolina Pro-Am, Hall put on full display what Wildcat fans could expect in the months to come. At 6’4, he is a tall point guard, but his speed, range and decision making abilities make him close to impossible to guard one-on-one. Oh yeah, ask Jerry Stackhouse about his vertical jump credentials.

To Stack’s credit, however, he does have one of the sickest plays in college basketball history. That and at the end of the day everyone gets dunked on at some point. Except me.
