John Wall may not know where he’ll be suiting up once the NBA tips off in October, but he knows what he’ll be lacing up in for the foreseeable future. By signing a $25 million endorsement deal with Reebok, he can go ahead and get used to swimming in the millions now. As for his shoes, who knows what Reebok has up their sleeves. It’s probably been a good 10 years since they made a splash in the sneaker world and have to be eager to attempt to make their presence felt once again. I just hope it doesn’t have anything to do with that horrible looking Zig Tech they’ve been trumpeting over the first half of the year.
Outside of John’s bank account, Reebok has to be the big winner in this union. With Allen Iverson more than likely out the league for good, they needed a marquee name to be attached with. Wall will provide that for them, now all they have to do is provide a shoe that will capture the attention of sneaker heads, ball players & casual fans alike. That’ll be easier said than done as I can only recall four models (Blacktop, Shaqnosis, Question & Kamikazee) in my lifetime that gained any sort of mainstream attention. However, in a day and age where signature shoe lines aren’t what they used to be, going for the highest bidder might the best business move.
Plus you can always head over to the house that Phil built later down the line, John.
