Jonathan Mannion & Mick Boogie Recreate “Paul’s Boutique” Cover For New Beastie Boys Tribute

If there was ever any one person I could pick to shoot my album artwork, it would be Jonathan Mannion. Having grown up on his shots from XXL, along with covers like Reasonable Doubt and The Doctor’s Advocate to name a few, this Cleveland-born lens liaison for fans and their favorite MCs has always known how to capture artists in their best light. Fully aware of his pictorial prowess, Mick Boogie has commissioned Mannion to shoot the cover of his latest project, Grand Royal, which is a tribute tape to celebrate the Beastie Boys recent induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

To take a look at how Jonathan’s creativity cooks, cameras followed him and Boogie as they headed back to Ludlow Street to recreate the Boys’ Paul’s Boutique cover from a modern perspective. Lee’s Sportswear might not be there anymore, but Mannion and Mick give the classic cover a fresh vision, which can be seen below in this behind the scenes video.

Grand Royal drops tomorrow.
