I’m fairly confident that we were all hoping for the best of Juelz, but “Soft” isn’t it. Instead, he makes a mediocre attempt at a comeback, with the exceedingly predictable group of Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and Fabolous to try and garner some attention, or take away from the fact that “Soft” is not worthy of the Juelz we have loved in the past. If anyone was ever to pander to the basic sounds of today with an instrumental, it would be with Santana with his second single from his upcoming God Will’n that sounds like an aggregate of every other beat that Officer Ricky and Meek find themselves on.
Instead of dialing-up the usual suspects, Juelz either should’ve gone solo or tried a more unique feature. Cassidy was the first person that popped into my head. He has bars for days (or at least 10 minutes). Or give Cousin Bang space on the instrumental to entertain us. Was Zekey busy? Or Cam? Nah, wishing too hard right there.
