Juelz Santana Lil Wayne Album

On Thursday, Detox got unofficially delayed forever, but today a similarly lost forever album may be resurrected, kind of.

Juelz Santana spoke with Vibe and revealed that he and Lil Wayne are scheduled to work together very soon.

“Wayne said ‘Tha Carter V’ was going to be his last solo album, that’s exactly what he said. Wayne told me to come out to L.A. I’m definitely looking forward to going out there and getting some things done. I don’t know what those things exactly are going to be yet.”

For those short on memory, the two could never get on one accord – be it for personal reasons or legal troubles – to create the actual retail album. First, Wayne went to jail in 2010 and, around the time he got released, Juelz was dealing with his own issues after his New Jersey studio was raided in 2011. Itching to record and release fresh material, Wayne started working on his own. “I started putting extra verses on those songs and I’ve moved on,” Weezy told MTV. “Now what probably would’ve been I Can’t Feel My Face, has now turned into I Am Not a Human Being.”

Whatever they cook up now, if it’s anything close to the greatness that was the I Can’t Feel My Face leaks (which became either Blow or Face Off depending on where you downloaded the mixtape at) in 2006 then count me in.

Wayne’s recent streak of dope verses and new-found focus has me excited as well, even if Juelz long-awaited but ultimately disappointing God Will’n has me worried. Either way I’m playing “Birds Flying High” for the rest of the day.
