A few days ago, Gotty™ pointed out to me that one of Kanye’s most admirable qualities is he’s only a public figure when he needs to be. Think about it for a second. The space that fell in between 808s… that lead up to the unveiling of “POWER” was best suited for you to fully embrace the movement we’ve all come know as My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. For someone who puts a great deal of their personal gripes into their music, Mr. West finds the time to gain the experiences in his solitude without much distraction. I even remember him Tweeting one time that he didn’t own a cell phone. As a crass as that may sound, his private life makes the one he gives to the public that much more enticing because it’s not fattened with mundane preservatives.
Which is why he’s able to stop time in this blogosphere of ours. Whether its a mini-movie or free music with the “who’s who” of the game, he drops, we stop. And it’s also probably the reason why the world could stomach a five-hour appearance on Flex’s show today over at Hot 97. Three hundred minutes may sound like a good chunk of time but Kanye West had a lot of ground to cover and he made sure every hedge was trimmed. From Amber Rose, to his album cover to a comical spin on pictures you’ll never see on TSS, he was very receptive.
MBDTF in stores November 22nd. Sounds like a plan to me.[audio:http://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/in-flex-we-trust-1.mp3%5D
Bonus: It’s the radio station so you know they had to rap.
Props to InFlexWeTrust.
