Last year Kanye shocked the world when he decided to drop “Only One” just in time to bring in the new year, and today he’s going for a repeat with the release of his newest song “Facts.” Yeezy’s wife Kim Kardashian announced the new track on Twitter earlier today and ‘Ye came through just in time to throw the new track on your NYE playlists.
“Facts” plays like half Nike diss, half Drake “Jumpman” impression with Metro Boomin’ and Southside handling the production duties. Not only does he go back to his trusted “Yeezy just jumped over Jumpman,” bar from “New God Flow,” but he also adds some more direct shots at the swoosh throughout.
If Nike ain’t have Drizzy, man they wouldn’t have nothin’, woo!
If Nike ain’t have Don C, man they wouldn’t have nothin’, ooh!
But I’m all for the family, tell ’em get your money
Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy, they line up for days
Nike out here bad, they can’t give sh*t away
What’s clear is the song was made recently, as ‘Ye mentions LeBron’s new Nike deal, Bill Cosby, there’s a Steve Harvey Miss Universe reference and even a shoutout to Kim’s Kimoji shutting down Apple’s App store. Though most of the song’s boasts might be topped by this pic of President Obama getting some Yeezys. Maybe ‘Ye is looking for some advice for 2020.
