“I pray to God this beat is good enough for Shyne, if not J. Cole your shit is trash / But at least my opinion just made everybody laugh…”

With over 240,000 copies moved in the first week, Hip-Hop’s newest star, Kendrick Lamar, is officially born. Expressing his gratitude the only manner appropriate for the most in-demand MC of the moment, K-Dot lets loose of “The Jig Is Up (Dumpin’),” an organ-heavy, in your face number with instrumentation from Canei Finich and some fellow named J. Cole.

Addressing his sales and the “classic status” of GKMC, Kendrick eases concerns that he’ll eventually turn pop and never look back while taking a necessary, but comical shot at Shyne for his recent comments. His flow appears as sharp as ever, and at this point the sky truly is the limit for Lamar and everyone around him.

Now it’s all about remaining consistent, which is easier said than done.
