When Kevin Durant won his first NBA MVP title, he entered elite air, putting him in the company of his Nike Basketball counterparts, Kobe and LeBron. As such, the Swoosh releases a special edition set of kicks to mark KD’s achievement.
As usual, the devil’s in the details when it comes sneakers meant to mark an occasion and the KD VI NIKEiD MVP follows suit. The shoes feature a pixelated graphic that include Durant’s monster stat line from the season – 31+ points per game scoring average, 41 consecutive game streak scoring 25+ points and two 50+ point games – slightly blurred out to blend with the shoe. In the end, the numbers and colors mesh to create a pattern that’s unique to KD and make sure everybody remembers what he accomplished this year.
