For months, Kanye West has been taking fans on a roller coaster with his up and down relationship with music. As we all know, creating music has taken a backseat to his desire to do fashion. Recently, Yeezy made it seem like music would be a focal point by finally pinning a release date on SWISH and going back to his G.O.O.D. Friday routine of new songs weekly, beginning by dropping “Real Friends” last week. Unfortunately, this Friday came and went without a sound or even a tweet explaining why.
Now, Kanye’s new mouthpiece/music publicist Kim is updating fans on why we didn’t get a new track on Friday. In a series of tweets, his wife explained the song’s absence. Here’s a hint: the delay relates to fashion getting in the way. Again.
We all assumed that the song was already complete but Kim’s statements make it sound like that’s not the case. By the sound of it, ‘Ye’s got more he wants to add to the track, just so he doesn’t get murdered on his own sh*t by K. Dot. The Noah mentioned here is most likely Noah Goldstein, who has worked with Kanye since 2010’s MBDTF. So, do some fashion, hit the studio to crank out the final lyrics, get the song mixed and mastered then out to the fans within the next day or so maybe?
Either way, we’ve already heard an elongated snippet of “No More Parties In L.A.” last week so I guess it’s no big deal. I guess the most amusing part of the whole thing is imagining Kim acting like she can count bars. Then again, she couldn’t be as heavily involved with the project without knowing the basics, right?
