I had a hard time adjusting when Chad Johnson became “Chad Ochocinco” and old thoughts are being rekindled now that the the player formerly known as Ron Artest has been unleashed on the NBA world by the Lakers. For one, at three full words, his full name will be a mouthful for any commentator to say and I just don’t see Kobe Bryant acknowledging this name change in the huddle or the locker room. On Saturday, Mr. Peace made his first appearance for the Lakers media day and after uploading some pics, I got to give credit where credit is due. Ronnie having “World Peace” emblazoned on his back makes for a pretty snazzy looking jersey. Despite this though, I’m pretty sure it’ll take me a few years to adjust to the change, especially since “Ron-Ron” just flows so much better.
