Everybody except Tez knows that the Cash Money era starring Lil Wayne could be winding down to its last days. For anybody in denial, Wayne placed the first nail in the coffin on Friday night after previously lowering the casket on Thursday with his initial, inflammatory tweets.
While in Brooklyn performing at a VICE-hosted show, a fan clip captures Weezy addressing the crowd. The first part is a bit hard to understand, but it’s obvious he’s discussing Tha Carter V‘s delay, “due to technical difficulties.” What follows is pretty clear, as he states “I’m f***ed up in a bad situation.” After that, it sounds like he says “I will be out of it soon” before thanking fans for their support.
Where he ranks in today’s landscape is sometimes hard to peg but Wayne’s still one of the top five names in Hip-Hop. While we may not know specifics, we do know that Wayne’s world is probably about to change and, with it, so will the fate of his long-time label, its stars and the rap world as a whole.
