There’s A Reason You Won’t Hear A Jay Z Feature On Lil Wayne’s ‘Carter V’

Jay Z’s working relationship with Young Money is outright befuddling.

First, he worked with Drake on Blueprint 3 and later on Drizzy’s Nothing Was The Same. Then, he and Aubrey took turns sending not-so-subliminal jabs at each other. As for Wayne, Jay’s openly praised Wayne before in the past, even rhyming alongside Tune at the Grammy’s and appearing on “Mr. Carter” from Tha Carter 3 (after having him feature on 2007’s American Gangster). Wayne, for the most part, has long-since adored the talents of his Brooklyn counterpart.

By the time C4 rolled around, however, here was Tune threatening to kidnap Beyonce. Staying true to form, Wayne extended a giant olive branch towards Jay’s direction on this year’s heater, “D’usse,” titled after the cognac the elder Carter promotes.

When MTV caught up with Weezy last weekend after the BET Awards, Cash Money’s longest tenured Hot Boy was once again glowingly responding to questions about Jay. When asked whether fans could expect “the big homie” could appear on C5, Wayne shot the idea down, “I’m not going to bother that guy. He seem like he’s pretty busy right now.”

Interestingly enough though, Wayne also left the door open to the possibility. So who the hell really knows at this point?
