Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival is one of the country’s biggest events in live music, competing with Coachella and Bonnaroo for the crown. This year’s lineup has finally been announced, and it’s heavy on rock, featuring big names like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, and what’s sure to be an interesting performance by Ozzie Osborne’s Black Sabbath. The event will be held, as it always is, in Chicago’s Grant Park from August 3-5.
Fans of Hip-Hop will be less than enthused by this year’s offering: the biggest names in attendance are J. Cole, Wale, Childish Gambino and Frank Ocean. Not a bad crop by any means, but when weighed against the much larger crop of rock bands and electronic DJs, you’re going to have to sift through a lot of other acts. Staunch rap nerds will probably want to spend their money elsewhere. Everyone else can head over to the festival’s website for tickets.
