The Associated Press recently interviewed Madonna about her workout regime. The short piece seems like a decent idea to pick the brain of a quinquagenarian about how she’s able to tour and stay in shape.
The pop icon then mentioned with whom she’d like to collaborate on upcoming projects. She (pun alert) disclosed that she nearly partnered with Disclosure on her most recent LP, Rebel Heart. She also threw out, “I don’t know, maybe I’ll collaborate with Drake.”
If a Madonna-Drake collaboration sounds like a great idea, that’s because it probably is. Let’s quickly list some positives that we’d gain from it:
— It could potentially be way too sexy, in the creepiest and most fascinating way.
— Drake’s help and contribution, depending on his influence over the track, could make Madge’s work more interesting to millennials; thus far, she’s only appeared as the weird, old person who randomly shows up at the bar solo.
— Pop culture think-piece writers would twist their words into something that could be best summed up in one of two words: fire or trash.
Here are the potential negatives:
— Absolutely nothing, and no one can save Madonna’s career now.
— Hearing Madonna coo after Drizzy and he do the same to her could melt ears.
No word yet on if she’s dead-serious about working with Drake. Not for nothing, Madonna’s a fan of Drake after he showed his appreciation for her by titling a IYRTITL song after Madge.
