New Mariah! New Mariah!

It’s been a while since we had a conversation about Mariah Carey in regards to her actual music career (as opposed to her MILF-ishness or her corny husband ), but the songstress has a new album – Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse – on the horizon, and a new song to commemorate the occasion.

Dubbed “Thirsty,” it has all of the “first single” calling cards – a feature from an up-and-coming rapper (shout out Rich Homie Quan!) and a beat laid down by one of the game’s hotter producers (Hit-Boy). The end result is pretty enjoyable. Nothing that’ll make you take a stroll and ponder the world around you, but Mariah kills the hook, and Quan’s shtick definitely works over the beat.

And then there’s the matter of the single’s covert art.

Keep doing you, Mariah. I’m sure the video will be a delight.
