Over the years, I’ve come across a lot of stuff at my 9-5 which I’ve come to consider to be “fringe benefits” and that’s how I discovered Maroon 5. I had been playing Songs About Jane for a good grip since plucking it out of lost & found thinking they were a guilty pleasure, when come to find out that everyone in my circle had been giving it heavy spins as well. They’re just one of those groups that happen to be Hip-Hop head approved. I wasn’t even too heated that they beat out Kanye for best new artist in ’05 (despite being released initially in ’02), because I felt that they’d stick around for awhile.
They’ve been a brief hiatus since their release of It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, touring and doing whatever else musicians do between new releases. The groups finally back with new material as they prepare for the release of their third studio Hands All Over. On the lead single “Misery,” love literally hurts for Adam Levine and the fellas, and their pain is our musical pleasure.
Maroon 5’s Hands All Over will hit stores & digital registers 9.21.10.
