“I’m the same n*gga from Berks Street with them nappy braids…”
With nearly a week to go before the album drops, Meek Mill unleashes the intro to Dreams & Nightmares, produced by Tone the Beat Bully. Following a minute or so of an inviting and piano-laden instrumental reminiscing on what it took to get to October 30, the mood changes abruptly resulting with the energy reaching emergency-levels only comparable to trying to escape a burning building. Awhile back – maybe on Twitter or some magazine – Meek said the intro would, definitely grabs people’s attention. Mission accomplished. If nothing else, expect this to earn a spot on gym playlists from Philly to Portland.
Moving forward, the joint with Kirko Bangz never took off (and wouldn’t be a surprise if it were chopped off at the 11th hour). This, however? Aight, Meek, you’ve got my attention. Now keep it.
Bonus: Meek sits down with XXL’s Editor-At-Large, Shaheem Reid, to discuss said intro.
