This is definitely the worst week in Maybach Music history, ranking it above 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards where Ross scuffled with Jeezy and Gunplay got his ass mollywhopped. Today, a Philadelphia judge slowed Meek Mill’s album promotion by sentencing him to do a stint behind bars.
Per Fox-Philly, Meek is currently being held at the county jail for a probation violation of some sort. Reportedly, prosecutors were concerned with “with Mill, including posting a photo of himself with a gun.” Details are scarce but it looks as if he’ll call the place home for the next three to six months, but his team says he will only be locked up for three to four weeks.
For all the “Brotherly Love” his city is known for, the legal system there has shown Meek little mercy. Meek’s been on probation since seemingly forever. Last summer, the court ordered the rapper take etiquette classes to curb his negative behavior. He’s also had his fair share of hardships dealing with Philly cops and beef with a ton of rappers there as well.
The latest news comes after a week where Maybach Music saw Meek and Wale publicly beefing on Twitter and Fat Trel get slandered by an ex-lover. At this point, one has to wonder how much bad news Rawse’s empire can handle before these fissures turn into full scale cracks in their once impenetrable armor.
