Melanie Fiona – “Gone And Never Coming Back” Video

The fact that Melanie Fiona wins me over without having to prace around half naked is one of the glaring reasons why I appreciate her music so much. Don’t get me wrong, there isn’t a damn thing wrong with looking all googly-eyed at the gyrations of Rihanna, but from a personal standpoint (i.e. whose album I’d be more inclined to buy), I’m siding with Fiona. Her physical beauty acts as an exquisite compliment to her even more beautiful voice and the Toronto transplant looks to be one of the last remaining burning candles holding authentic R&B in its rightful place.

“Gone And Never Come Back” has been circulating for a few months now, but it is inspiring to see such a well put together record receive a push. The record itself centers around heartbreak and lost love, yet thanks to Melanie’s range as a singer, it provides more than enough replay value. Her sophomore project, The MF Life, is tenatively set to hit shelves this summer. In the meantime, look for the Roc Nation songbird to join Marsha Ambrosius on a nationwide tour which actually kicks off tonight in Dallas.
