The issues that plagued the Miami Heat in their 11-14 finish the season didn’t magically disappear once the “real season” started, but the Heat still had enough to beat the Bobcats 99-88 in Miami today. Led by LeBron’s 27 points and nine rebounds and Dwyane Wade’s 23 on 10/16 shooting, Miami also dusted off James Jones and saw him chip in 12 points and drop Cody Zeller on the wood with a pump fake.
Charlotte did their damnedest, and coupled with hot starts to both halves made the game interesting throughout. Kemba Walker dropped 20 points despite his six turnovers and Big Al Jefferson finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds but was clearly hampered by his plantar fascia injury after a flare up in the first quarter. Jefferson started off 4/4 before the injury and finished 5/13 and never looked the same as he did during the Bobs hot start.
Game 2 is Wednesday night on TNT.
