Gasp, that headline.
In what will surely send ’80s and ’90s babies into apoplectic nostalgia fits, MTV announced today that it will dedicate its July 4 programming block to nothing but music videos. For 12 hours straight, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST, the channel will air something like, say, Drake’s “Started From The Bottom” or whatever the kids are streaming on YouTube nowadays, only breaking for commercials.
The glass slipper falls off at 6 p.m. sharp, reverting back to this. However, it’s MTV’s goal to be your “ultimate party playlist” this Independence Day, so maybe let it. Like your grandmother offering to wash your laundry, it’d just be the nice thing to do.
One additional request: can Kurt Loder anchor hourly news segments throughout the 12-hour span? Thanks.
