Music Rising, the new mega-website of Gulf South music and culture, just launched last week. Built with help from the Music Rising foundation, led by U2’s The Edge and legendary music producer Bob Ezrin, the website has everything from digitized oral histories of jazz to musician biographies and music courses that can be used in schools.

It also features 11 interviews with New Orleans Hip-Hop legends, produced by our very own Holly H. Many of these interviews tell stories that have never been told on record before, and include a massive amount of info about the history of hiphop and bounce in the city.

The site is still working on maximizing its search functions, so we went ahead and grabbed the links to all of the videos below. Peruse them and get to know an integral part of New Orleans’ musical history.
