NBA Players Read “Mean Tweets” About Themselves On The Jimmy Kimmel Show

Believe it or not, there are people out there whose sole purpose in life is to type the most disrespectful remarks in 140 characters or less to celebrities on Twitter. And aside from the whole #AskDraya debacle from the other night,* they’re mostly corny as hell, too. Maybe they’re compensating for lack of social skills. Or maybe it’s some weird psycho-sexual infatuation SVU has yet to cover in an episode. Regardless, a brunt of the aggression is aimed at athletes.

In line with tradition, Jimmy Kimmel gathered up more than a few NBA players and analysts to read tweets directed at them which weren’t exactly appropriate to read in front of grandma. Everyone – from Metta World Peace, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Kobe Bryant, Bob Costas and more – obviously takes the clip in stride helping add to the comedic factor, but one thing needs to be said. A lot of these “disrespectful” tweets were downright lame.

Except, of course, the tweet that said Rajon Rondo looked like Franklin The Turtle. That one was actually pretty funny, and somewhat accurate.

* – That may have been the the greatest collection of insults I have ever seen lobbied at one person.
