It’s almost like the NBA wants us to care about All-Star Saturday Night again. First they give us a Dunk Contest lineup that could bring the Dunk Contest back to glory and now we’re getting the Three-Point Shootout lineup we’ve been begging for for years.
Yes, according to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Golden State Warriors’ starting backcourt known as the Splash Bros. – Klay Thompson and Steph Curry – are going to be in the contest this year, together. Not only that but the guy looking to create the 50/50/90 club, Atlanta Hawks sniper Kyle Korver, is in the contest as well.
Woj also reports Blazers guard Wes Matthews and Clippers guard and Duke legend J.J. Redick will be joining them all at All-Star Saturday in the Barclays Center. The contest takes place on February 14th.
With all due respect to Korver and the rest of the participants, I’d be completely fine if we see the Three-Point Contest version of this on Valentine’s Day.
