If you’re still not familiar with Bishop Nehru, now’s better than ever to give the Mass Appeal signee a listen. At only 17, Nehru has been deemed some of the nastiest young talent around and now the Rockland County emcee has been blessed to have the opportunity spit over production by the legendary DOOM.

The duo premiered their second single “Om” off their upcoming collaborative LP entitled NehruvianDOOM, due out by September 23rd. While Nehru’s earlier projects, such as his debut Nehruvia, featured beat breaks and laid back samples for Nehru to ease over, this time he’s entirely subject to DOOM’s world and he manages to hold his own.

In classic DOOM form, the sample on “Om” is cartoonish in nature, giving off that villainous vibe that keeps the production upbeat like something Dick Dastardly would race to in Wacky Races. Nehru is able to keep up at the very least with DOOM’s unorthodox style, as he sounds far more mature and polished since his Nehruvia days. The track is a good start, but I’m curious to see how Nehru handles DOOM’s production in a full-length project, since it’s no easy task.

The duo also dropped the video to the first single, “Darkness (HBU),” earlir this month. Check out “Om” below, the video for “Darkness” and peep the tracklisting for NehruvianDOOM as well. Pre-order the LP on iTunes and/or grab actual physical copies in CD and vinyl here.
