New Balance is pretty much known for their craftsmanship, never caught slipping or half-stepping as other brands sometimes get caught doing. They always look to add a level quality that’s unmatched that traces back to the brand’s early rise in the running shoe category. Part of history was built around models like the M1300, which are set to be reissued, as they are every five years dating back to 1985 like a sneaker eclipse of some sort.
In the mid-80s, these kicks were on another level with their ENCAP cushioning system, Vibram outsole, high-quality nubuck leather and mesh and their $150 price tag, which was unheard of at the time. For the ’15 reissue, NB’s Maine factory nailed all of that and more by sticking with the same color combo and even the stitching that’s spot-on in comparison to the original (seen below).
All of the aforementioned plays into the folklore and cult status of the shoe meaning New Balance connoisseurs will be ready to pull the trigger when these bad boys go up for sale on March 28 for $300. Watch for them in-store at New Balance Experience shops across the map and online at NewBalance.com.
