The career of Curtis Jackson, at this point, has been well documented. Whatever history paints Fif’s legacy as, one thing remains true. Even in 2012, when he actually zones in, the guy can still make enjoyable music. Borrowing The Honorable Duo Of Necklaces’ “Riot,” 50 leaves the pop charts and business ventures in another room and briefly revisits the “aggressive content” which made him arguably the biggest name in rap nearly a decade ago.
Expect to find this on Curtis’ forthcoming Gangsta Grillz, The Lost Tape. As brief as this is, it’s still a step in the right direction. If the rest of the tape mimics this feel, Fif may be on to something. Keyword: “may.”
