As Lonnie works the circuit in preparation for his upcoming album, The Dreamer, The Believer, well-rounded Philly musician Derrick Hodge has recruited Erykah’s ex for this jazzy, inspirational title track from his upcoming album Live Today. If you liked “Sweet,” this is the complete opposite.

When Joey drops new material, you can expect two things. 1.) Certain females from his past will be brought up. 2.) The lyrics will be more blunt than a box of Swishers. Staying true to form, Buddens delivers both over this soul-sampling, heavy-hitter instrumental meant for Mouse’s upcoming Feature Presentation project.

After pulling together a handful of select hip-hop talent for their their recently released Stankonia Sessions: A3C Edition compilation, the in-house producers at Outkast’s go-to studio have let go of the project’s final leak, this eyes-on-the-prize joint from the likes of vets Big Pooh, Freeway and rising Detroit MC Young Scolla.

Hey, new jacks. Before you get it twisted, this is Betty Wright, with an ‘r,’ not White, like the Golden Girl. Now that we’re clear on that, soak up some class and take in this relatively random new track from the “Tonight Is The Night” singer, off her upcoming joint project with The Roots. As a proud member of a happy home, I can definitely attest to Miss Wright’s advice.
