True to form, DJ Kay Slay brought three New York rhymers together to flex a little skill on “Wanna Be Right,” the most recent release from his upcoming tape Strength Of A Gesture. J.R. Writer, Reek Da Villian and Jae Millz all sharpened their respective pens, ready to take part in the time-honored tradition of posse cuts. But despite their best efforts, the lone rapper in the cipher hailing from outside the Empire State stole the show.
Jon Connor, TSS’s resident American Psycho, effortlessly separates himself from the competition with a dexterous, agile flow, cutting rhymes, and his characteristic wide-eyed fury. “Y’all say you got drive, y’all a car that’s missing the engine, As I’m inching towards the line that signifies you finished.”
Damn. Ring the bell folks. Chalk this particular contest of lyrical skill up to the young man from Flint.[audio:http://www.archive.org/download/DjKaySlayFeat.JrWriterJonConnorReekDaVillianJaeMillz-wanna/03WannaBeRightMix.mp3%5D
