After their last single made Barbara Streisand relevant for the under-50 crowd, the disc jockey duo of A-Trak and Armand Van Heldon – AKA Duck Sauce – have returned with their howling follow-up, “Big Bad Wolf.” Less friendly than it’s predecessor and subsequently less appealing, this obviously uptempo attempt at transforming a Haunted Halloween Sounds clip into an international trance dance works, but only after you’ve been listening for about three minutes. The spooky sample stands out so much, by the time you’ve gotten used to the awkwardness, you’re brain is so asphyxiated to the blending BPM and repetitive low-end vibes, that somehow, even an overbearing wolf clip makes sense.
While still just a radio rip from Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 broadcast, and pretty weird I might add, this will probably end up a winner. Especially if they get the video right.
