As it seems to the naked eye, Esperanza Spalding has been meticiulously perfecting her second first impression since winning a Grammy for Best New Artist last year. She’s been living in a Radio Music Society and on March 20th, she’ll share it in its entirety with the whole world. The first taste is an empowerment of her people over very subtle instrumentation. The video is also live if you need a visual reassurance.

Esperanza Spalding – “Black Gold”

Yeah, we all know what Eric Benét is best known for but he’s singing away his sins on The One, his new upcoming album featuring this sultry slow jam in “Real Love.” Wale recently said this type of R&B was going the way of the dodo bird. And while he may be right if radio doesn’t start doing the right thing like a Spike Lee joint, this powerful ballad lets you know it went down swinging.

The Albino twins (no shots, that’s their real last names) only drop music when their hairstyles change and since they got their hair did, weaved-up all Rapunzel-like, we’re blessed with an airy number that boasts some real potential. Prepare yourself for the album, Nicole & Natalie (taken from their real first names).

Nina Sky – “Day Dreaming”

Have you wondered what The Queen of Soul’s biggest classic sounded like with a bit of techno infused into it’s veins? Sure you didn’t, but the latest Melanie beauty delivers it for you to kick back, enjoy a Pepsi and beam with American pride. Just a little bit.

Melanie Amaro – “Respect”
