On paper, Game and Preemo is a dream record that I’m sure Jayceon rapped about at some point or another in his earlier catalog. And resulting the mp3, “Born in the Trap,” is just vintage Hurricane spazzing out and throwing his dubs up in the sky. Premier’s production is the perfect compliment to Chuck’s raspy aggression and the two come together on wax with quite an astounding chemistry for a first time collab.
After years of supporting his music and preaching that The R.E.D. Album would exceed expectations, I also lost confidence in it eventually, a byproduct of his recent slew of lukewarm mixtapes and pointless, terrible-sounding shots at Hov. But even though all those pleas for attention and recognition will ram him into a brick wall every time, Game hasn’t had one bad mainstream record to date. Actually, quite to the contrary all three of them have been one or two hits away from perfect or near-perfect ratings and from the bits and pieces I’ve gathered, his fourth record looks to be soon following suit.
I’m just disappointed that the Game x Nas x Jay Electronica collaboration didn’t happen this go around but you can bet I’ll be standing by for the leak, whenever it comes one of these days.
