Only two years ago, the name Surf Club might elicit a “who?” from even the most in-the-know music snobs. Now, following Chase N. Cashe’s late 2009 Eminem-featured placement on Lil’ Wayne’s “Drop The World” and a Hit-Boy produced song on a modestly promoted album by two other rappers, the brand is on fire. Enter: Kent Money.
Eager to prove that the crew has more to offer than just its two co-founders, Kent arrives with the first single to his upcoming album Eyes Wide Shut. “The Moment” is an ode to…well…living in the moment. Given the timing of its release, the upbeat track simultaneously adds some more heat to the dog days of summer, while serving as the perfect soundtrack to striking while the iron is hot.
