Whenever Cole World’s behind the board’s, it’s safe to assume things are about to get deep. Well, that’s exactly what time of day it is on King Mez’ new single, “The Allure.” For the first offering from his full-length studio LP My Everlasting Zeal, the current face of North Carolina Hip-Hop handed off a stirring, string-oriented instrumental to his in-state comrade, which Mez proceeds to open up on like a ribbon-cutting ceremony. For those unfamiliar with the King, the track actually serves as rather nice introduction, as he details both the disparaging details of his hometown Raleigh and the inter-workings of a 21-year-old rapper on the rise.
But, the only issue here is the question of whether or not this will separate King Mez from the pack or ensure comparisons to his platinum partner from Fayettenam. What do you think, is this the one that will move Mez out of the blogosphere and into the limelight, or it just another stepping stone?
