Lloyd Banks – “Check Me Out”

Cold Corner 2 was cut meaning the next release Lloyd Banks puts his name on will be the follow up to last year’s The Hunger For More 2. The final destination for the Cardiak-constructed “Check Me Out” is unknown and truthfully wouldn’t be surprising if it doesn’t land anywhere. The budding chemistry between Card and Banks is something to keep tabs on though because of previous successes. Here, the track is littered with one liners and a bass-friendly, head nodding instrumental. It’s worthy enough to add to the archives. What you do with it from there, well, that’s all up to you and your personal preference.

Sidenote: I know rapping over industry instrumentals is largely a thing of the past, but how would a 2011 Lloyd Banks Vs. Cassidy tape sound? Cass doesn’t appear to be doing much these days, and he can’t possibly still be salty from “Piggy Bank.” I’m sure he’d be down for the exposure. Those type of mixtapes hardly ever left the car back in the early 2000s.
