Lloyd Feat. André 3000 – “Dedication To My Ex (Miss That)” (Narrated By Lil Wayne)

If my math serves me correctly, this is the third new André 3000 verse to surface in 2011, and second this month. Once the tracklisting for Lloyd’s new album King Of Hearts was released, one of the more anticipated tracks was his second collaboration with Dré. The first being the “You (Remix).” “Dedication To My Ex (Miss That)” features a narrative by Lil Wayne who gracefully leaves the vocals to Young Goldie and the rapping to Big Boi’s partner-in-rhyme.

The record is an uptempo confession of lost love; one that sounds like it could be performed in church had it not been for those pesky “pussy” references. Secular wise, however, it could actually work for Lloyd pending he can track down Three Stacks and Wayne to produce a creative video. As for Mr. Benjamin, it’s business as usual, which happens to be good news for those heavily invested in the Dré bandwagon.

“And no I am well aware that you can bring a man to his knees
And get what you need without saying please
But can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat
And they gon’ put this man Grammys on the street…”
