If you were wondering how and why such a successful label like Cash Money would take a chance on an over-forty, former felon like Mystikal, well…the answer can be found amidst his first single since signing, “Original.” Centered around a theme of redemption and aligning yourself with a solid team, this empowering comeback track from the fast-flowing New Orleans MC reaffirms that the former No Limit soldier hasn’t lost a single step in the booth and still proves to be force after ten years behind bars. On top of that, the self-proclaimed “political refugee” seems to have his head screwed on tight and should definitely serve as mentor of sorts for many of YMCMB’s young guns.
All positives aside though, between the verse from Mystikal and Weezy, there are two pretty terrible punchlines about poop. Let’s hope those are out of their system by the time the Tarantula’s Cash Money debut drops in 2012.
