Slaughterhouse – “Hammer Dance”

As you could have expected, Slaughterhouse’s “Hammer Dance” is indeed referring to the infamous shuffle made popular by a certain Oakland entertainer. However, until you listen, the actual music couldn’t be less applicable to the metaphoric title. Instead of breaking out their parachute pants and calling up the Temptations, Shady’s fearless foursome rip through Araab Muzik’s sinister simplicity with ease, clearing up why they’re always walking so awkwardly at the club. Guess what, it’s not because they’re drunk. It’s because they carry high-power artillery, which fans will see full force come May 15th, when the group’s Our House LP finally drops.

Come to think of it, these guys probably don’t even know how to dance.
