New York City and my hometown of Ettrick, Virginia, are basically the same place minus the millions of people, numerous sports teams, the term of endearment “B,” public transportation and Madison Square Garden. One thing they do have in common, however, are corner stores.
Our family in writing over at Hip Hop Wired have put together what looks to be an entertaining concept challenging the knowledge of NYC residents and their ability to shop on a budget. Each contestant – in this case Gary and some guy you might’ve heard named N.O.R.E. – are handed five bucks and told to buy as much as they can without going over their given amount.
Without giving away the winner, let’s just say N.O.R.E. wasn’t lying when he said “n*ggas on the run eating.” Look for new episodes of The Corner Store Challenge coming soon.
