Aspiring musicians fight for attention from fans, media and labels. It’s that one shot deal I alluded to a day or so ago. P. Dukes possesses a James Earl Jones’ baritone that’s captivating enough to warrant a few minutes of your time, perhaps justified once “Wake Up” is played. The track has a pensive pace, allowing Dukes to reflect in audio and share perils of the rap game in his always poetic yet concrete approach.
If it means anything, I’m betting on the guy to make his impact felt and quietly dubbed him with our “We Got Now” distinction. As evidenced by the screenshot above, the respect is appreciated and reciprocated and that’s real.
