adidas Originals landed a winner by bringing back the Support ’93. Packer Shoes has consistently shown they know how to make the most of their collabs. Put both of these together and its a recipe for success that yields the Running Support ’93 ‘SL80.’
“Our first EQT was inspired by a groundbreaking shoe celebrating its 30th anniversary (the adidas Micropacer). Our second, based on a shoe coming up on it’s 35th, is a bit more subtle but just as iconic in the Adidas running archives – the adidas SL 80. This isn’t the first time the navy/gold of the inspirational SL 80 has been reinterpreted on an Adidas shoe but taking the simplicity of the original design and reinterpreting it on the EQT Support felt like a good compliment to the Micropacer OG.
“Being one of Adidas’ original runners, we felt that releasing this project right around the NYC marathon was only right as well.”
And it wouldn’t be Packer with a bit of giving added in. A portion of the sales from each shoe will go to two initiatives, The Wounded Warrior Project and The Bradley Carbone Recovery Fund. Of course, the info is there for both causes but the second one benefits a guy who’s a friend to all sneaker friends so it’s very dope to see this happen.
Priced at $140, the Packer and adidas Originals EQT Support ‘SL 80’ releases on Friday, October 31 in-store and online at PackerShoes.com, plus several other shops, a full list of which can be seen here.
