While the causes surrounding Heavy D’s untimely passing are still a little sketchy, we do know that he was touring through Europe, promoting his latest album, Love Opus, prior to returning home to Los Angeles. During his stay in the U.K., Tim Westwood had the now-bittersweet pleasure of conducting the Heavster’s last interview, which ironically gives a full-fledged overview of his entire career.

From the highly popular non-single with Jay-Z, to his fallen comrade who was immortalized in one of Hip-Hop’s greatest classics, to his Jamaican roots and everything in between, all bases were covered.

Forty-four years of age isn’t even old enough to get patches of gray hairs in some instances but for Heavy, he lived life to the fullest and seemingly accomplished milestones with each passing generation of the culture. R.I.P. Mr. Myers. You were a Hip-Hop legend in every definition of the title.
