Give The Drumma Some

I’ve always broken down sneaker years the same way the school year or NBA season falls. If you were to compare Nike’s releases that way, I’m not too sure you’d find a stretch that would top 1995-96. That time period was full of classic shoes, many of which are still re-releasing to this day. Sure, there may be other remarkable individual shoes than those captured in the image above, but there aren’t many and their draft class is most likely weaker. Do remember that other models from the period – The Nike Air Speed Turf Max, Nike Air Shake Ndestruckt, Nike Air Max CB34, Nike Air D.T. 3, Nike Air Burst, Nike Air Way Up and Nike Air Diamond Trainer Fury – have their own folklore, too.

All of this to say the Nike Air Max Penny 1 gets the retro treatment again this weekend in their original Orlando colorway. Not seen since its 2007 retro, I’m taking the plunge even with SXSW on the horizon.
